Home / Introduction to the Philosophy of Biology

This course is an overview of current issues within the Philosophy of Biology. The course subject matter is somewhat arbitrarily divided into three categories: (i) those issues arising from the fact that evolution is manifest as a population-level phenomenon. (ii) those issues arising from the fact that evolution is a consequence of the activities of organisms, and (iii) those issues arising from the fact that they don’t fit in either category (i) or (ii).
