This course traces the use of geometry and algebra in the evolution of physics and astronomy from around 1310 to 1690. It examines the conceptual foundations of geometry, algebra, analytic geometry and the differential calculus
and their use in understanding the physical world. No prior mathematical knowledge is presupposed.
Exclusion: Any 100-level MAT course
