I am a first year PhD student at the IHPST. Before joining the department, I completed a BA in Philosophy at McGill Univeristy and an MPhil in History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Cambridge. My interests are primarily in history and philosophy of biology, particularly how the concept of the ‘organism’ emerged in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, and how it has changed in light of technological and scientific developments. I am particularly interested by the way theories of life and theories of mind have informed each other since the late 17th century, and continue to do today.
